MATCH NEWS
The Ladies and mens triples kicked off at 2pm, with some big scores in the opening encounters. Anne Darbourne, Beryl Ralley and Jean Jackman, took an early lead of 8-0 and 11-1 only to be pulled back to within 4 shots by Rose Kirby, Janice Batkins and Candie Marchant, but Jean steered her team to victory with a score of 4 on the 17th end to seal victory. They will now play defending champions in a repeat of last years final; Maggy Read, Carol Crowford and Shirley Taylor, as they overcame a early deficit of 1-9 and 10-12 to eventually pull through and beat; Sylvia Webb, Billie Dumbleton and Maureen Burbridge in the closest game of the day.
The mens semi finals were a different story with both winners, coming from early leads to hold on and win. Firstly Graham Buchanan, Joe Jaquest and Mick Lane, pulled away leading 12-1 amd 19-6 to win convincingly against Tony Smith, Tony Batkins and Roger Darbourne, they will now play the triple of Staff Burbridge, Bernie Bailey and Jamie Heath as they took a resounding win, leading 17-0 and 31-2 over President Bill's team including Joe Pilkington and John Anderson.

The Mens triples were played in awful conditions on Saturday 14th August, with some good bowling, and some big upsets.
Joe Pilkington, John Anderson and Bill Bowler beat the reigning champions and unbeaten team for 5 seasons of; Norman Clare, Mike Alderton and Arthur Thomas to set up a semi final clash with; Staff Burbridge, Bernie Bailey and Jamie Heath. As they won a one sided encounter against - Bill Perry, Rob Kirby and Dave Harding.
In the Other half of the draw, there were two very close quarter finals that were both rained off after 16 and 17 ends respectively, with Joe Jaquest, Graham Buchanan and Mick Lane defeating Tim Baldwin, Robin Newman and Duncan Barratt, They will now play Tony Smith, Tony Batkins and Roger Darbourne in the semi final, as they pulled out a good result over George Ivey, Barry Dyer and Dick Dumbleton.
These 2 Matches will be played on Sunday 22nd August, along with the two ladies semi finals. Come along and support and enjoy some great bowling.

In a ladies friendly v Amersham Chalfont won by 69 shots to 45 top rink was Denise Rogers Theresa Wade and Beryl Ralley 27 shots to 12,in the c&t v Glory Mill Chalfont won on all 3 rinks by 61 shots to 39 top rink was Carol Crowford Norman Clare and Arthur Thomas 21 shots to 13 Chalfont picking up all 10pts. In the vi trundell v Stoke Poges Chalfont won by 1 shot in the home and away fixture. In the friendly v Broomwade Chalfont lost by 82 shots to 92 top rink was Rose Kirby Barry Dyer Bernard Mcarthy and Maureen Burbridge 19 shots to 15.and in the friendly v Berkhamsted Chalfont lost by 75 shots to 89 top rink was Pam Anderson Theresa Wade and Jamie Heath 20 shots to 16.
